Canine, chats

Last night on my way back home from work, at around 00h15, I noticed 3 police cars parked in the alley that’s parallel to my street. A patrol car from the neighbourhood’s station, the supervisor as well as a car from the canine unit. On site in the alley were about 5 cops and a dog. The dog was at work, he seemed to be looking for something… The other cops stood by watching. I wondered what was going on… And Happy wanted to go play with the police dog!

Happy really makes people talk to me! For example a few nights ago, coming back from the soccer game, an old lady talked from Henri-B to Berri. She chatted about her pets, how she lived now, her apartment, etc. Last night in the metro a old man talked with me about Happy, the work involved, his attachment to his pets, etc. As he left the wagon he thanked me for the chat. I’m guessing these older people don’t really have many people to talk with. And with Happy it makes it easy to just start a conversation. I’m glad I can help them feel less isolated.
