An item a day: Keys
These are keys from back home… The black one is from my mom’s old Nissan Stanza 1989. It’s the car she had when I first started driving, and it’s the one I used as a teen.
I got my first, and only, speeding ticket with it, on an excursion to Labrador. I was going 70km in a 50 zone… It was near the end of the village, not so far from where the limit changes… So the cop could have let it slide, but he didn’t.
On another occasion I went 200k’s with it too! That was a bit nuts… Going downhill on a straight so I floored it, to test how fast I could go. Not something I’d do again, especially on that crappy road.
Also I broke the transmission off of it… I went off of the main paved road onto some old gravel road. And I was going maybe a bit too fast. There was a rock. Bang. There went the transmission.
Some good memories in that car as well of just driving around with my two good friends, parking somewhere, chatting, driving some more, etc.
Also because we lived near my mom’s workplace but the school was further I was the one who took the car during the day to go to and back from school, with my brother and my best friend most of the time. I felt special. Most kids either walked or drove the bus to school. I had my mom’s car!
