Seven day ago I ordered jeans online. It was my first time buying this brand. And my size changed since I’ve been in Blanc-Sablon. So it was guess work to choose the style/size! Especially online!

Today my parcel came! Yay! But it almost didn’t. The shipping tag was mostly gone, only part of the barcode left, and the last letters of my last name! Thankfully the staff here at the post office knows everyone, and knows I often get packages, so he was able to tell it was mine!! Phew!

I was anxious to try the new jeans on and see how they fit… And to my amazement they are PERFECT! Comfortable! Nice dark wash! Pretty detailing on the pockets! I’m really happy! And it allows me to wait until May for more shopping when I go to Montreal…

The best chicken ceasar salad I ever ate was while in Australia, at the pub (London Hotel, Balmain) right near where I lived. Maybe it was the setting or how hungry I was… But to this day I still remember it!

Tonight I didn’t really know what to make… I had fresh lettuce in the fridge, chicken breast and bacon in the freezer… So I cooked the chicken in nice slices, cooked some bacon to make homemade bits, grated a bit of cheese… Simple, made in 15 minutes and good!

And to finish it off, for dessert, a slice of freshly baked bread with beurre d’érable. Yummmmmm!

I’d really like to buy my Iceland plane ticket! But I have to wait for the formality of my employer accepting my annual trip request…

Happy will stay at a doggy-daycare near Quebec City. So I’m looking at:
Arrive in Quebec on June 4th.
Happy goes to daycare on June 5th.
Spend two days in Quebec City June 5th and 6th.
Bus to Montreal & leave for Iceland on June 7th.
Back from Iceland on June 24th.
Montreal to Quebec & Happy returns from daycare on June 25th.
Leave for Blanc-Sablon on June 26th.

Now, if only I could go ahead and book it all!

Today I spent a lot of time outside because it was a beautiful day! Of course, Happy was along for the fresh air! We started with a little visit by the shore to take more pics of the iceberg.

Then I borrowed snowshoes from J. I parked the car near the airport and walked 45 minutes to/across Lac à la Truite to go to a cabin where mom was chilling (went by ski-doo). I rested a few minutes and headed back. It took me 1 hour to walk back, I was a bit more tired.

Happy loved every second of it. I think her favorite moment was chasing after a huge sail. Someone was on snowboard with a sail, using the wind to go around. Happy was trying to catch the sail in the sky, way above! Her second favorite moment was seeing mom and her boyfriend at the cabin! She was super excited.

At sunset I went back out again, to photograph the iceberg at sunset… Too bad the iceberg wasn’t closer to the sunset, I could have zoomed in more for it to be bigger… But it was still very pretty to see.

And now I’m tired. Going to take a bath and put my pjs on. Tomorrow I’m not working, since I worked on Saturday. I might spend the whole day in my pjs… If Happy lets me!

This morning as I arrived at work I saw an iceberg! What?! In the middle of Winter?! That’s quite unusual. I didn’t have my camera on me, and the meeting was about to start. So I thought I’d get my camera at the break.

That’s what I did. By then though snow started to fall and the iceberg, out at sea, was nearly visible. Crap!

Luckily at lunch the sun was back out. Yay!

I was hoping to go back and take more with a pretty sunset, but it was snowy again by that time… Maybe tomorrow if the iceberg is still around!

Weekend mornings on RDI they ask us to send in our recent weather pictures. I’ve done it a few times now (4-5 I guess), including one this morning! I love seeing/hearing my name on national tv! And having my pics shown too!

Tomorrow is supposed to be weekend, but not for me! I am going to attend the Coasters’ Association general assembly meeting. It’s held by visio-conference at my workplace. Hopefully it’ll be an interesting day… But poor Happy I won’t be able to play with her. On the other hand, I’ll have a free day Monday! Because I do need two days to rest… I need a real weekend.

So I just bought a pair of jeans…! Yay! I need a new pair for a while now, and since I’m not going to the city for a while, thought I’d order online. It’s a bit of a gamble as I’ve never tried jeans from that brand, and am not sure how they make their jeans/the sizes fit, but if it doesn’t fit, I can return them. So it’s like shopping but in very slow motion. Ordering (pulling off the rack), waiting 1 week (waiting 10 minutes for a fitting room to be available), trying it on, and keeping it or not!

A little discussion turning into an argument. A reaction to something someone said. Someone else adds lots. Some crying. Head home. And now feeling like crap. Hate fighting and hate swear words (especially directed towards me).

Today is Happy’s birthday, she’s two!

Last year, I had to bring her at Mira’s for her evaluation on February 18th, so I missed her first birthday… But today I got to be with her as she celebrated her second. And what a strange day it was…

This afternoon I went to bring her at mom’s so she wouldn’t be alone all day while I was at work. But as mom wanted to tie Happy out on the cord so she’d play outside, she escaped! She went running everywhere. She wanted to visit her friends on her birthday!! Mom called me at work, saying she’d lost Happy. So I went to search for her. I found her after 20 minutes of walking around/calling “Happy!” I brought her straight back home!

For supper mom invited me over for a fondue to celebrate Happy’s birthday. It was delicious.

Happy might be two, but she’s just as excited/crazy/energetic as a little puppy (running away any chance she gets). She’s learned lots though! She knows when I ask her to: sit, lay, give paw, give other paw, stay and bring pillow/blanket/toy. Of course, she also knows this word: no! She’s a smart dog, and very loyal.

I’m glad now she’s mine and we’ll have many more of her birthdays to celebrate together!

My tentative dates for Iceland are June 8th (arrive that morning) to June 24th (leave that afternoon). I’ll spend a few days in Quebec City before the trip, as June 5th is my bro’s birthday…

I’d also like to go to Montreal for a week before that… I was thinking in May, to take advantage of a good gig at the same time (May 6th, The Kills), but it’s close to June and I don’t know if my employer would allow me to take two of my trips so close. So it could be in April, around Easter. It’s yet to be determined.

It’s good to be able to plan… Because now I know for sure I’m not going back to Montreal in April! It’s going to be later… How much, still don’t know… Maybe in September 2009 or possibly the Summer of 2010!!!

I’m trying to find the form to fill out to register my one-person business with the Quebec Government, but am having trouble… I did find this one, déclaration d’immatriculation, but no where in it do they ask the name of the business! So I don’t think it’s that… This is getting a bit frustrating!

I think I’ve decided to simply register a name with the Quebec Government for now. I don’t know what name to give my new business though… Suggestions??

And I possibly have a contract already! At work they are looking to make new “pochettes de recrutement” to replace their (really) outdated ones. It’s a little folder with info on the establishment to hand out when they go to career fairs, etc. I would do the design of the pochette and elements, handle things with the printers, etc. I submitted a “estimé” and hope it’ll be accepted as is!

Well, my colleagues really liked the special V-day treat I gave them! Yay!

A bit of a blah weekend until now… Haven’t done much! Watched tele, napped, cooked a tiny bit, did some design for a little contract (printed materials)… I’ll have to go outside and move more tomorrow, before the weekend’s over!!

I want to set up a small business… People told me when you have no employees and make less than 30,000$ you don’t have to do the taxes thing. I have to get a business number from the government, but not sure where… I have to do a bit of research online! Or does anyone have experience with that?

J’ai mal à la tête, so off to rest it a bit on a comfy couch pillow.
