How about "Bavard" because he miauws a lot? Or "Walabi" because he has long back legs like a walabi? Or my mom's suggestion "Grisou" because he's gray? Or what else... I think I will think about it some more.
I got my little cat!!! I went to the SPCA this afternoon. I saw about 15 kittens and I choose one. He's male, 2 months old (born on June 19th) and all gray with a really long tail. I didn't really like the service I got at the SPCA though, they really rushed me and I felt pushed around through the whole process (papers, paying, etc). But in the end I left with a cardboard box and a little cat! I took the metro home with the box. The cat didn't like it at all! He kept miauwing and scratching the box. Finally we made it home! He was a bit nervous, exploring the area slowly... I still had to go out again to buy cat litter for his box. So I left him... And came back 30 minutes later... He'd played in the plant's earth and went on top of my coffee table. There was dirt all over!! Grr! Great start little cat! He's miauwing a lot... Seems he's trying to find his mate... He was with another kitty cat in his cage at the SPCA... But now he's on his own! He played a lot around too. Then he got tired and decided to go to sleep right on my favourite spot on the futon! Funny cat...! I still don't have a name for him. For now I'm calling him "petit minou". But eventually I'll think of a neat name!
Today I went to do a bit of shopping. I went at the DEX outlet and got two tops... One originally worth 55$ for 5$ and the other from 29$ to 5$, great savings! Then I did some grocery shopping... And also bought my new bus pass and cell phone card. Now I'm all set for this month! Work called me in to do some hours next week... That's good! If they continue doing that I won't have to look for another job!! I also sorted through my clothes to give some to charity. I do that a few times a year. Last time was before I moved back in February. I will give two big bags away. I just have to find the nearest place to drop these off in my new neighbourhood... I really don't know... And I don't want to walk for hours/take the metro to drop the big bags off!!! My boyfried gave me a lot of tomatoes from his garden! A big bag! I will use some to make a homemade spaghetti sauce.
I want a pet to keep me company! I would love a dog. But the dogs I want are big and require an outdoor space where they can play/roam. And a dog isn't so practical when I am not sleeping home/going on a small holiday. So a cat would be better. The cat can stay on it's own longer as it has a litter to do his business in. But they are not as nice as a doggy! Still cats they can be quite playful when they are young and then as an adult it's nice to have them around while watching tele and pet them. I think I will go to the SPCA tomorrow to see what they have to adopt there...
A beach near Brador... Jean Charest announcing money to build a new road, Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon... L'Anse-Aux-Meadows Viking site, Newfoudland... Lobster cages in Sally's Cove, Newfoundland... Waterfall at Western Brook Pond, Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland... The sea-side town of Port-Aux-Basques, Newfoundland... The whole set of photographs to come sometime soon hopefully!
I'm back in Montreal! I have quite a lot of catching up to do on what happened on the trip... But not tonight! I'm way too tired! I had a great time. We spent a lot of time driving from one place to the other (well actually my boyfriend drove...). It was long at times but all worth it in the end. We saw so much nice scenery, beautiful landscapes, pretty towns, etc. We got to see my mom, my hometown and eat yummy food. I'm at home now. I got here at about 14h this afternoon. My boyfriend went to his place. We've been together for the last 8 days almost non-stop so it is a bit strange for me to be apart now! I know I will be fine, I have tons of things I can do, but still it's just a bit of readjusting. This afternoon I watched the recording of the Prison Break premiere I had recorded last Monday. I can't wait for the second episode tonight at 20h!!! Tomorrow morning I have my first class of my Masters prep! It's at the HEC school. I'm a bit nervous. But also excited. I hope I will have a good night of sleep tonight to be in good shape for the class!
I'm excited to leave for the roadtrip!!!! Today I've been packing... Sleeping... Resting... Watching tele... Going out for last minute errands... I'm ready to go!!! But there is one dodo left! Today's Photoblog picture, Snakes:
When I moved to my new apartment I got Illico. Before I was on the normal cable package from Videotron. What I like with Illico is the different channels you can pick. Recently I switched some around and got the CTV Travel Channel. They have a show I really love... Xquest! I've seen a few episodes (Amazon river - which I am watching right now, Lake Baikal, and the Asgaard) and love it!!! I want to do this kind of adventure travelling as well!
This morning my boyfriend and I went to different stores to try and find a gift for mom! We went to 6 different stores. I was looking for something in particular. And I kinda found it at the last store...! I really hope my mom will like her birthday gift! It took us 3 hours total to shop for it!! Now I'm going to get ready for the roadtrip! It's going to be a long trip. I don't know what to bring clothes wise! I like to bring a lot of things and then decide when I'm on the trip what to wear. I like a lot of choice/variety. I wish I could bring my whole wardrobe! But I will try to bring less...! I'm still converting CDs to MP3s in iTunes (did it right this time!) and it's a super long process!!!! Tomorrow I will transfer the music onto my iPod! I'm hungry but I don't know what to make for dinner!
A while ago I saw this on a weblog and thought it was neat! At the time I wasn't really using Itunes. But now that I bought my Ipod I'm using it... And right now I'm in the process of transferring all my CDs to digital format. It's taking a long time!! So here's a screenshot of my "party shuffle."
Today I got really tired of walking near the end of my shift. We arrived at our base to log out and finish the shift 7 minutes in advance. Some supervisor has to sign our daily report sheet. When I handed it to the person I was told "you're in a hurry to get it signed?" I thought she meant the minutes early. But that's normal! We're pretty casual with time, not like a punching clock! I replied it was normal. My colleague then gave me her idea of the situation that maybe the person felt I was pushy because I had waited behind her until she finished doing something to get my sheet signed. It was really not the way I had seen things! It's not the end of the world, it's nothing. But now I wish I was back there in that situation to be able to clarify it with the person! It often happens that after a conversation I analyze it and find a different point of view that I had not seen originally! Anyways... Tomorrow is one of my last days of work there for a little while... It's good that it's coming to an end because after a whole Summer there we're too much entered in a routine and it's hard to get a feeling of fresh and new which I like! But it sucks because when I come back from the roadtrip I'll have to go job hunting! They don't keep us when the school year starts again... Oh well! Their loss!
Ikea, build my new coffee table, hang out at home and do nothing, watch tele, go to my boyfriend's place, have dinner and crème brûlée dessert, watch home videos, sleep. Drive home with my boyfriend, make chocolate chips muffins and eat some, hang out, watch tele, go do groceries, make a painting, transfer CDs to Itunes library, watch tele, take a bath... Tomorrow, after-tomorrow and after-after-tomorrow I'm working. Then a few days off... And it's the roadtrip to Blanc-Sablon!!! I'm getting excited!
Today at work we were walking in a park. I saw a squirrel that was eating a plastic bag!!! He ate it all...!!! Man! And then he started trying to eat a paper bag too!! He left and after a while he came back to eat the paper bag!!! I thought this squirrel was nuts. But I'm guessing (and hoping) it was his way to transport the materials to make his nest in the tree. Because otherwise he'll be dead tomorrow!!!
There was a Videotron tech who just rang the outdoor bell/speaker system for the main door. I talked to him, asking which apartment did he want to go to. He said an apartment number that was not mine so I did not open up... Who knows if it really is a Videotron tech! So then I continue doing my business on my laptop. A few seconds later he pops up on my balcony, looking at me inside my apart and asking if I can open up the main door for him because he has to unplug the cable of apartments 01, 300 something and 300 something. Great! People are coming uninvited on my balcony now! It should be like a ship... Ask permission to get on it! Anyways... I saw he looked like a legit Videotron tech so I pressed the button to open the main door. Why would people want to cancel their television service anyways!! Tele rules!
