Power off!

Got up around 8h. Shortly after that the power went off! Apparently they are changing an electricity pole in the village… So cereals for brekky, dial-up Internet/battery powered laptop to go online, music on my iPod and craft to keep busy! I’m making little boxes decorated with polished sea glass. I also went out for a walk with Happy. I love the sea when it’s like this, with raging waves!

I’ve had this song in my head for the past few days, humming it as I go around doing my business. It’s too catchy.

The wind is blowing 55 to 67 km/h right now… Apparently it will go to 80 to 110 km/h! I love wind and storms. Especially Winter snow storms! I am looking forward to lots of snow to finally get some use out of my “new” ski-doo!

For this evening: candles, comfy couch and tele.

Friday night at the cabin

Yesterday after work I headed to the chalet for the night. Someone was already on the lake, kayaking!

As always, the sunset was amazing…

Happy was there too…

I enjoyed a Stella with the sunset and spaghetti for supper.

For dessert, some freshly picked blueberries. There are a lot around the cabin.

This morning I got up quite early… Around 5h! I did a bit of cleaning at the cabin before coming back to the village. Then I joined J.&M. for raspberry picking. I have enough to make a dessert… Haven’t decided which yet! But I know it will be delicious.

Yep… I guess that’s it, eh!

Crêpes, worrying, not all Earl

Crêpes is usually brekky food… But it was supper for me! That’s what happens when you’re too hungry but don’t feel like cooking supper. Was good though, with lots of maple syrup!

I hear a person’s stories/problems and it touches me a lot. I then find myself home alone worrying about conversations I’ve had that day. I always wish I could do more for the person. But most of the time there’s nothing else I could do, just having listened was enough.

I’m looking forward to the weekend and I hope we’ll get some nice weather… Not all Earl storm and rain!

Clothes, dog, pick a date

Gave some clothes away, the person was happy, so am I. Didn’t fit me anymore so what was the point of keeping it? More space in the closet for new pieces! Yay!

E. and her dog are leaving soon… E.’s bringing the dog back to the city and she’s coming back alone. Happy and I will certainly miss the big beast on our walks!

I should throw a little party at the chalet soon, to “pendre la crémaillère!” It’s just hard to pick a date… And hope the weather will then cooperate!

I finished work a bit later today… But it was nice and windy enough so I went to the cabin with Happy to bring some stuff. It’s a nice walk, especially carrying stuff! As I was coming back it was almost sunset so I stopped a bit at Pointe à chasse to take some pics.

Things at work are getting exciting again with the Summer holidays over. Next week I’ll be in La Tabatière for 4 days! Looking forward to a ride on the Twin.

Bed linens dried out on the line, smells so good. Can’t wait to go to bed tonight.

Went on a walk with a friend and our dogs, glad everything’s going to work out here for her afterall, she’s staying!

Don’t know what to cook for supper.

Loved the colour of the sea today, especially at lunch, it was dark grey!

Ordered a new foam mattress for the cabin today but have to wait a few weeks to arrive… Sears. Will be nice to sleep on when it will be at the cabin!

Cabin – steak, sunset and hydroplane

Yesterday was quite a nice day to be outside, sunny and just enough wind to keep the flies away!

So I took advantage of it by going to the chalet. On my way there I saw J.&M. who were out picking berries. I invited them along for a swim at the lake! It was fun! M. made a little fire to keep the flies away when we got out of the water, that was nice! Later W. and his gang came by on their 4 wheelers and invited us at their beach, so we went. It was nice to socialize a bit. In the evening I cooked steak outside on charcoal from a wood fire. It was delicious!

The sun going down gave the lake a pretty colour…

I slept at the cabin. This morning I relaxed there a bit… Good thing I was up early, the hydroplane landing/taking off twice would have woke me up! I came back home around 10h.

Beach

What a day. The funeral went well, it was a nice way to say goodbye to Mr. G.

I feel like today was the equivalent of 3 days in 1! So to clear my mind I went to the beach with Happy. As she ran free (and even swam in the ice cold sea), I walked along the shore looking at the beautiful big waves. The heavy wind blowing salty air was refreshing. Just what I needed.
